William Thompson,  74, a former resident of Battle Ground, die
d Monday at his home in Cloverdale, Ind after an illness of 18 months. Death was due to stomach trouble. Eleven years ago he, with his family, moved from Battle Ground to Cloverdale. Born in Ohio, Dec 13, 1854, Mr. Thompson came to Indiana when he was a small boy.  He was a member of the Baptist Church at Cataract and charter member of Red Men’s lodge no 550 at Battle Ground. He was married July 29, 1882, to Miss Milley Ferguson who survives, together with a son, one grandson and two brothers. Funeral services were arranged for Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock from the Methodist Church at Cloverdale with Rev. Mr. Prichard officiating; burial in Cloverdale cemetery. - kbz
